It is our sincere desire to provide an environment that is secure, satisfying, and enriched with a genuine Christ-like love. We strive to create an atmosphere that will minister to your child in a positive way which is necessary for their spiritual growth. When you visit First Baptist Summerfield, you will be greeted at our Preschool desk by one of our Preschool Directors. They will help you check in and show you and your children to their room. That same Preschool Director will be there the entire Sunday morning to answer your questions, and ensure your child has a wonderful learning experience.
Preschool Mission Statement
To build a Biblical foundation for children, birth through five years old, that prepares them to trust Christ as their Lord and Savior, and to equip their parents with the tools and resources needed to place Christ at the center of their home.
Preschool Sunday School
This is for preschoolers from birth through age 5 Sunday morning from 9:00 – 10:15 AM. It’s more than cookies, crafts, and puzzles. It’s where the groundwork is laid for a simple, emerging faith. It’s about exploring, tasting, touching, moving, and watching an ever-expanding world. It’s discovering captivating Bible stories about God’s people and His special love for them. It’s about questions: Who is God? . . . Where is heaven? What is church? Most importantly, it’s knowing that you are fearfully and wonderfully made and treasured by God.
Preschool Children’s Worship
Children ages 3-5 can attend this special time of worship during the 9:00 AM service. They will have a miniature, age appropriate version of a worship service with music, activities and hands on Bible lessons.
Each Wednesday at 6:15 PM we have preschool choir. This is a wonderful introduction to music for ages 3 through pre-k to learn more about God’s love through singing.
Extended Teaching Care
Teaching Care is provided for infants – 5 year olds during the 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM. Worship services on Sundays and for infants-2 year olds during the Sunday and Wednesday evening worship times.
Three through five year olds discover the exciting world of missions through hands-on activity each Wednesday from 6:45 -7:30 PM immediately following preschool choir which begins at 6:15 PM.
AWANA Puggles, Cubbies and Sparks
Children must turn 2 by August 31, 2017 to enter Puggles. Children must turn 3 by August 31, 2017 to enter Cubbies. Children in grades Kindergarten through 2nd Grade will go to Sparks. The AWANA name stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed and is based on 2 Timothy 2:15. This club meets on Sundays from 5:00-7:00 PM September – May. It is for children 3 years old to 5th grade. They have fun through game time (team and individual competition); learn through handbook time (achievement oriented learning segments emphasizing the importance of God’s Word for sound living); and grow through council time (quality time for group Bible study, followed by awards and recognition for individual handbook progress). These three elements of the club keep it fun and exciting. We also offer a snack time to help kids (and workers) make it through the night.
